Breaking Point 1918

Two vintage prints by Hein Gorny and one by Gorny/Karl Theodor Gremmler are presented in this exhibition curated by Sebastian Lux, Lothar Altringer, Jens Bove and Adelheid Komenda on view

at the Altonaer Museum Hamburg from 8 June to 13 August 2018.

The eventful years of the Weimar Republic were not only characterised by what was happening in politics and society but also by changes in fashion and dance, technology and industry. Photography accompanied the young republic through all its developments, shifting as a medium and reinventing itself technically, thematically and aesthetically.
